This is a recording of a seminar given to a group of doctoral students participating in the the Cambridge ‘Forming a Christian Mind’ programme in December 2021. The first in a two-part mini-series, this session introduces the notion of biblical “figures”: repeated patterns and rhythms that become the Bible’s “signature moves” and inform Christian social and cultural critique. It then explores the uses of such biblical figures for Christian students and scholars.
